Surrounded by supporters and allies, including Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll, Worcester Public Schools students, and local union leaders, Mayor Joe Petty announced his candidacy for re-election to continue serving as Worcester's Mayor and City Councilor At-Large.


The energy in front of Burncoat High School was palpable as attendees celebrated a Mayor who always shows up for his constituents, from building state-of-the-art schools and supporting small businesses to advocating at the State House for the needs of our city.


Throughout his remarks, Mayor Petty reaffirmed his commitments to build new Burncoat Middle & High Schools, expand affordable housing offerings across the city, strengthen public safety, grow the city's economy, and invest in Worcester's students


“We are stronger when we work together,” Petty said.
